Maastricht University NL-High Potential Scholarship 2027–2028

Who may be eligible?

• Hold nationality outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland and Surinam.
• Must not hold dual nationality from an EU/EEA country or Switzerland.
• Apply to an eligible full-time master’s programme for the 2027–2028 academic year.
• Submit a complete master’s admission application by 2026-12-10.
• Meet the admission requirements of the selected master’s programme.
• Have no previous participation in a degree-seeking higher education programme in the Netherlands; exchange students may apply.
• Be no older than 35 on 2027-09-01.
• Have a GPA equivalent to at least 7.5 out of 10.
• Meet the applicable Dutch visa and residence requirements.

How to proceed

1. Review the official list of eligible master’s programmes and confirm that you meet the requirements.
2. Apply to an eligible master’s programme through Studielink and submit the complete admission file by 2026-12-10.
3. Obtain your Maastricht University student number.
4. Complete the official scholarship application form using your UM account before 2027-02-01 at 23:59 CET.
5. Upload your CV, motivation letter, academic transcript and grading-system explanation, personal statement of financial need, reference letter and referee details.
6. Submit the application only after checking all documents, as the university states that applications can only be submitted once.
